Sharp, refreshing citrus taste, similar to sour orange with tropical hints of pineapple.  It is the only Urban Farmhouse Co. Shrub which the pulp and vinegar 'Mother' floats! The plant is used to control erosion along waterways from Oregon and Washington in the Northwest.  It is a hardy deciduous shrub producing nutritious orange berries. The leaves, flowers, seeds and fruits have long been used as medicine. Sea buckthorn contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, and C, as well as other active ingredients. It's been used traditionally to slow down the aging process.

The Sea Sour

Serves: 2

2 parts Urban Farmhouse Sea Buckthorn Shrub

2 parts Simple Syrup

4 parts cognac

1 part fresh lemon juice

1 part fresh grated ginger

Cubed ice

Garnish with a Star Anise and/or a lemon twist

You can substitute in place of the cognac - 2 parts whiskey/bourbon and 2 parts Triple Sec or Grand Marnier.
