🔥 Farmhouse Fire Shrub Chicken Biryani 🔥

3-4 TBS Farmhouse Fire Shrub

1 lb chicken

1 TBS canola oil

1 medium onion sliced

1 tsp garlic 

1⁄2 tsp ginger 

2 (3 oz) cans diced tomatoes

1⁄2 C. slivered toasted almonds or pistachios 

1⁄2 C. yogurt

1⁄4 tsp chili powder

2 whole cloves

1⁄2 tsp cardamom powder

1⁄2 tsp black peppercorns

1⁄4 tsp cumin powder

1⁄2 tsp coriander powder

1⁄2 tsp garam masala

1⁄2 tsp curry powder

1 cinnamon stick

1 bay leaf

2 TBS olive oil 

1 tsp honey 

Salt to taste 

1 TBS fresh cilantro

3 C. basmati or jasmine rice

4 C. water

Extra fresh or powder turmeric for color


1. Cook rice and water in rice cooker or stovetop according to directions until nice and fluffy.

2. Fry onions in oil until golden brown.

3. Add ginger and garlic and cook for a few minutes.

4. Add chili powder, cloves, cardamom, pepper corns, cumin, curry, garam masala, coriander, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, yogurt, almonds and tomatoes.

6. Once cooked down add meat and saute until meat is done and add water or broth if more moisture is needed. 

7. Layer rice and meat mixture. Salt to taste.

8. Put in oven at 350°F for 20 minutes.

9. Once finished, mix turmeric, olive oil, honey and Farmhouse Fire and drizzle over rice. Garnish with cilantro, saffron or safflower and serve!
